Supportive Services / Counseling
All students and alumni receive supportive services to mitigate their barrier to their success. We believe in staying connected with our young people throughout their journey by providing support as they need it to succeed in spite of facing obstacles along the way.
Support
LA CAUSA maintains a partnership with MSW (Masters in Social Work) graduate students across the county so that our youth have access to counseling and case management services in addition to those provided by LA CAUSA staff. An average of two interns provide support to all students throughout the program year. Interns offer one-on-one and group counseling, linkage to resources, workshops and groups as well as working with administrators on program development and evaluation.
Latino Prevention Project
Support Group
The Latino Prevention Project Youth Coalition offers a fun and inclusive space for youth ages 12-17. The goal of the Youth Coalition is to reduce the use of alcohol and other drugs among youth in the City of Montebello and East Los Angeles. The Youth Coalition provides opportunities to develop leadership skills by participating in weekly meetings, community events and social/recreational activities. In the weekly meetings youth are engaged in discussions on topics such as substance use, healthy habits, social issues, and more. Youth Coalition recognizes the importance of community engagement and encourages youth to get involved to have their voices heard.
